QAR Questions

This week for reading we practise our QAR strategy. We had to read the book called Matariki breakfast. After that we had to come up 10 questions. We used the QAR questions which are think and search, right there, author and you and on my own.

The QAR Questions:

A right there question means that the answer could be found in the book.

A think and search question is an answer that is also in the book but you have to search different places in the book.

Author and you question is not in the book but the author has told you to come up with the answer.

On my own question is a question which is related to the main topic of the book.

These questions help you find the answer and it could help you make an answer of your own. This could improve your knowledge of understanding the book.

After that we use  a google doc about to write both opened and closed.

Then we had to create a response to room 4 in a group of 3.

Our response was mostly related to the bacteria:

Kia Ora room 4, we loved your questions.

We would like to do the bread experiment.

The dirtiest surface I think is our Chromebooks because we touch other surfaces then after that we touch our Chromebook.

To do the stance position you have to put one foot in the front of the other.

Then after a serve or if the bows pretty low, quickly put one arm straight out with a fist and then use your other hand to hold your hand with the fist.

Make sure you hit the ball with your forearm with some power so it could go across to the other team.

Maori

For maori we had to translate emotions and the weather in from maori to english. Firstly we started of with a daily routine. Raapa 24 o Pipiri/ Tuseday the 24th of June.

Next we translate numbers between ten numbers and billions. For example : Toru mano, iwa rau which is in english 39000.

Then we had to look at emotion words which were also in maori. We also used the maori dictionary to help us know what the emotion word means in english.
