Writing

LI. To finish of your imaginative recount

Using the Little red riding story as our  imaginative recount we had to finish off the event,
the 2nd event and the ending.

Before we blog then imaginative recount we had to check if there is any spelling mistakes, any violent words and using the right punctuation. In the imaginative recount you have to be 1 character to play as.
It was hard focusing on 3 slides or 2.

The tools we need to do this is a google slide and that is it. Before you have to know the story and this is not a story it is a imaginative recount.

Duffy assembly

LI. To meet a special guest

Today it was a special assembly because we got to meet a famous entertainer Robbie Rakete.
It was my first ever time meeting a wiggle. If you don't know who he is he's the brown wiggle in the wiggles. He created a song called Kia Pai Te Ra with the wiggles.

Mostly in the Duffy assembly he talked like a comedy star and made all of a teachers laugh. He explained to us why he found reading fun and a hobby. It was super fun to meet him and I want to see him again in the future.

Term 1 |Kiwi Can| Overview

LI. To recap everything we did in Kiwi Can

Today in Kiwi Can we recapped all of a learning from term 1. Our big theme was Positive Relationships. Our 3 modules were - Positive Relationships.
                                                        - Friendship
                                                        - cooperation

We made got into 3 groups. Each group talked about the 5 w's and h for 1 module. After we talked as a group, each group shared their ideas back to the class.

Reflection: 1 thing I enjoyed this term was sharing our ideas, because I want to see what other peoples ideas about 1 module.

1 thing that I learnt through out the term was learning about the definition about 1 module that I do not know about.

1 thing I need to get better at is positive communication because if we play another team and they score I always wine and say you barely made it. I need to start being honest in games and don't wine that we never scored or my team messed up.

Summarising



LI. To retell your sentences on flip-grid

Today for reading we had to read a book and find the keywords, summarise and make a sentence. We did the same thing like last week but we had to read the sentences faster because there is a time limit to record on flip- grid. First we had to write the keywords and summarise it to make a sentence in a table.
Then after that you have to record yourself on flip-grid and read your sentences. To do this you need are template on a google doc and flip-grid to be able to record yourself reading your sentences .

SSR Selfie

LI. to talk about your book

My book for SSR Selfie is called growing pumpkins. This book is about and his Granddad growing a pumpkin seed.This book is also like a tutorial on how to grow a pumpkin seed. 1 page in the book explains to you what bees actually do instead of stinging you. Doing SSR Selfie is fun to do and I can't wait to read another book.

Prototec

LI. Practising your addition on Prototec 

Prototec was fun and easy because it was easy moving box to box. My time was 43 seconds because I did addition up to 5. Prototec is so fun I can't want to play it again and battle someone to see who is the fastest.

I commented on Taua was blog because I wanted to see if he improved and did better. He improved and he has gone better then the last time I checked on his blog.

Reading

LI. To summarise the keywords

In reading we had to read a book called pumpkins grow. We had to find the keywords on each page and . Then we use the keywords to make a sentence about what happened in the book. Next we had to record and say our sentence on Flip-grid. I was shy but if was a lot of fun.

Music

LI. To practise the chords and notes

In music we had to practise the chords and notes on different instruments. Well but I played on the piano. All the people on the piano just had to have fun and tested out the chords and notes on the piano. There others played ukulele and xylophone. The people who played the ukulele were struggling and the xylophone people were just fine because they could see the chords really easily. This music session was my favourite and it was a lot of fun.

Practising Ki O Rahi

LI. To practise the full game of Ki O Rahi

For Kiwi Sport the LS1 year 5's played Kio Rahi properly. Before we began we had to all warm up, so we palyed a warm up game called everyone's it. The main thing of this game is everyone's it and you have to tag anyone you see in sight.

How to play the Taniwha role
To play the Taniwha role you have to throw the Ki (ball) at the tupou (rock) as many times as you want before the kaitiaki get's the ball and passes it to their team. You have to also watch out incase you step into pawero because if you hit the ball at the tupou (rock) and you step into pawero it is no point.

How to play the Kioma role
To play the Kioma role you hve to touch as many po (Taniwha teeth) with the Ki (ball) and run into pawero and score a point for Kioma team. Also if the kaitiaki is in the Kioma team they can pass it to you and you can touch one po and score a point in pawero for team Kioma.


Hauora

LI. Learning about hauora
 
In hauora we learnt the maori words to say social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion. Next we go into groups of 4, then we created a google draw showing the 4 words but first we picked a object showing the 4 words social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion.My grouped picked a car to show the 4 words social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion. I chose to write about physical because it is easy to me in my opinion.

Next we made another DLO explaining are personal life. We fought of something that we did about the 4 words social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion. What we did in this DLO write something good and bad about yourself .You have to also write what you really do.

A final DLO we got buddy up with someone to do this DLO. I budded up with Peyton. We had to read a sentence and put it into the 4 words social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion. We first read the sentence and we put it into the social, spiritual, physical and mental/emotion that we think it relates to.

Imaginative Recount

LI. To write an imaginative recount based on a narrative

In writing we got into partners and we had to write an imaginative recount based on a narrative.My partner was Mote.The narrative we wrote about was little red riding hood.  First we had to plan we are going to do in our narrative. For the planing we thought of an tittle, we write an reveal, talk about the and talk about the event. Then we wrote a different tittle for a imaginative recount and wrote the reveal on a different slide. We used google slides to write a plan, new tittle ideas and are reveal.





Kiwi Can

Li. To build positive relationships

Today in Kiwi Can we were learning about friendship. We learnt that there are times we can say no !
We talked about situations were it is okay to say no!

We discussed different ways to say no that doesn't cause disrespect . We did a activity called empathy role play. A group of 4 acted out a situation and as a class we needed to decide the way to say no !
 our options were:
-No thanks !
-Lets do something else instead.
-It's not my thing.
-That's not a nice thing to do

Basic facts


LI. To finish your basic facts boxes
Today I had to beat the teacher time, the time was 3 :32 .
It was hard to move fast but unfortunately my time was 6:51 because I also did add/sub and my teacher only did addition. I have to focus more more and not muck around.It was a very hard challenge but it was a lot of fun.  



Cleaning data


LI. Cleaning data from responses
After we conducted our survey with others in the classroom we had to clean the data after the responses, on the graph where do you like to sit and rest ? All we had to do is find if there is an mistake or there is 2 names of the person because it means the person has done it twice or there is 2 persons that are exactly the same. We used google sheets to clean the data.
