Kiwi Sport

LI: Learning how to volley

For kiwisport we had to practise our full serve. A full serve is when you are delivering the ball to your opponent. First we played in doubles. Then we learnt to serve the ball while playing in doubles.We had to make sure our full serve was nice and  gentle.

Kiwi Can

LI: To learn about being patient

For Kiwi Can we talked about being patient in different time and situations. Next we got straight into our energiser called snap and escape. In this game their is a key word. You and your opponent have to have one hand out as flat as a pancake and one on your opponent's hand(your opponent does the same thing).

After that we got into our activity. So in this game you their are 2 teams that are standing in a line, with their arms on the person in front of them's back. Then you have to squeeze the person in front of you, shoulder. At carries along the line util the last person. The last person has to run and get a cone on a chair. Lastly we play GKQ.

Maths

LI: To use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wingspan and area on

For maths we had to conduct. To conduct the study we had to throw the planes and measure the distances. Then we had to create a graph to compare the flight distance and the wingspan.
Our were results were unexpected. I think what went wrong was the power of the throw and more other problems.



Writing



LI: To identity the parts of a narrative

For writing we are using the 5 senses to write an setting description. Firstly, in our group we had to write an telling and edit it by doing an showing sentence. Before we had to make the telling sentence we had to chose which setting would our group do. We chose to do an stranded island. In a telling it was like an literal paragraph and in the showing sentence, we had to change a few things.

Kiwisport/Tennis

 LI: To learn to serve a tennis ball

For Kiwi sport we learn how to serve a tennis ball.  Serving is when you have to throw the ball vertically and hit the tennis ball to your opponent. We learnt to serve the ball by practising how to throw the tennis ball diagonally to hit a cone, and who ever got the most points won.


Food Print

LI: What is supply and demand

For inquiry we met a small business owner named Michael. She talked about her journey beginning her own company, called Food Print. She was planning to make a company for 2 years and has had her company for 6 months. What motivated her was the food waste that is happening.Food print is an app to provide food at lower prices instead of wasting oversupply when demand has decreased.
Michael's business is an social enterprise business which means, her business helps people and the planet (earth).

Maths

LI: to use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wing span and area on lift
This week for maths we had to make paper planes. With the paper planes we had to measure the different measurement on a spreed.We had to create a spreadsheet to record the data.


Writing

LI: To learn figurative language

For writing we learnt about figurative language. Figurative language is when you say a sentence that has no literal meaning. We had to create DLO to show an example of what is figurative language. We had to use 3 characters to do the example. The figurative language we used for an example wore,metaphor,simile,personification and hyperbole.

Kiwi sport

LI: To learn to volley in tennis

For kiwisport we learnt how to volley in tennis. A volley is when hit the tennis ball to each without the ball hitting the ground. We had to buddy up with a partner and practise the forearm.
With our partner we also had to see how many time we hit the ball to each other.


Touch


This week we went to play on the memorial park to play touch against different schools.We played against Panama,Sylvia park,Pt England and Panama again. Our first game was against panama and the score was 2-1. We lost against Panama,only by one point. Our next game was against Pt England and we lost by 7 nil. Our next game was against Pt England and we lost by 6 nil. Lastly we played against Panama and we lost by three points.

LI: To communicate respectfully

For kiwi we talked and learnt about communicate respectfully to others. Next we did our energiser, we had to play rock,paper,scissors and if you lose you have to go on your knees,but if you lose again you are out. Then we played our activity called Animal choir,in this game you are given an animal and a lyric to sing. Lastly we did points.

The book is about a sister named Para that plays rugby. She has a brother named Shane that challenges who in a game of rugby league. Then we have to talk about the book on the task follow-up task.We do this task to show if we understand the story.
